About Me
After more than 25 years in senior management, I had the chance to retire early — and I took it. These days, I work part-time as a driver for a local company, which I genuinely enjoy. It’s active, down-to-earth, and gives me plenty of time to appreciate the simpler things in life.
How would I describe myself? Quiet by nature, maybe a bit shy at first — but loyal, compassionate, thoughtful, and with a strong sense of integrity. I value kindness, wit (I try!), and staying grounded. I’m not materialistic, and I don’t judge others. Romantic? I’ll let you be the judge of that.
I’ve travelled a lot over the years, both for work and pleasure, but it's no longer a big priority. That said, I’m planning a few backpacking trips around Europe — just me, my rucksack, and the open road. I enjoy walking and hiking, often with my two dogs (a Labrador and a Westie), and I’m keen on keeping fit. My job keeps me physically active, and I run several times a week — sometimes up to 10 miles. I’ll even dust off the mountain bike now and then when the mood strikes.
I have wide-ranging interests and a real curiosity about the world. I love reading — books, newspapers, anything that feeds the mind. I’m drawn to history (especially political), economics, and current affairs. I enjoy museums, galleries, historical sites, gardening, and a bit of DIY. I’ll admit I’m not the best cook — more of a “cook to survive” type — but I’m open to learning if you’ve got the skills!
Music plays a big part in my life. My tastes are eclectic — from classical concerts to pop, rock, and even the occasional bit of heavy rock.
