About him
Why communicator? Well, I speak German and Russian, with schoolboy French. And I enjoy composing written records, from meeting minutes to newsletters, for the military charity for which I volunteer. I’ve also been writing my website autobiography for over four years now.
I’m fairly well-travelled, as I spent thirty years in business-to-business sales around Eastern Europe and Central Asia, courtesy of my linguistic abilities. I’m now happily settled back in my native God’s Own County.
I like to think that I’ve become more relaxed the older I get. Age brings wisdom and tolerance. I remain active and am in good health. Surrounded by close family and veteran friends, my two housecats and I enjoy a comfortable independence in retirement. But, as a widower of nearly five years, I now realise that an extra is missing: the companionship of a like-thinking female to whom I can offer friendship, support, and hopefully romance. We’re never too old!
I follow current affairs and read newspapers daily online. A former rugby player – both League and Union – I am a fan of all sports, excepting tennis. My favourite films: “Blazing Saddles” & “Casablanca”. My favourite book: “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. Do some of these find a fit with a fellow lover of 50s/60s/70s and classical music?

I would like to contact a sensitive single lady who accentuates the positives and eliminates the negatives. Someone who generally shares my values and doesn’t take life too seriously. A sense of fun is attractive.
It would also be nice to locate a lady with a similar interest in languages, writing, or with experience of the countries I worked in, but none of these is a prerequisite. Just someone who likes what she reads here. A lady who feels that it could be worthwhile for both of us to follow up this introduction.
